The "Brassy" Hook ~ Short Shank Pencil Handle 8mm (previously Irish)

As many of you may know, we are no longer able to get Irish hooks as the maker has decided to retire.  Well, The Old Tattered Flag is proud to have found a new maker to provide this "cadillac" of Rug Hooks.  Our new "Brassy" hooks are from Brass and have been crafted to provide you with a wonderful and simple hooking experience.
The brass hooks are carefully rounded and smoothed to glide easily through the backing and pull loops without catching or tearing. 8mm is recommended for hooking strips #7 and up.  Note the short shank is 1 1/2 inches. When this shank is entered in your backing and pushed all the way down it opens up the fabric for your loops for ease of hooking. In picture #2 please see the Long shank and short shank.  It is personal preference for ease of hooking with the Long or Short Shank.
