Hand dyed woolens are wonderful, they add softness and movement to your rugs that you will not find with a solid or plaid. You will notice a slight or bold mottling of color throughout the piece. Please be aware that the mottle in each piece can vary slightly. The wool in the picture above is the sample photo of the above mentioned color. Our woolens are always dyed the same way, however, please be sure to order enough of what you need as each dye bath can vary slightly and if you are buying more to finish a background the tone may differ slightly, though overall the color will remain true. Seasonal changes can make a difference in hand dyed colors due to mineral changes in the water.
~Here's the Nitty Gritty~
The price above is for 1/4 yard of wool. A 1/4 yard measures 15 inches x 36 inches before washing. All wool from The Old Tattered Flag will come to you washed and ready to use. Since wool is a natural fiber it shrinks during the dye/wash process. Finished sizes will vary due to different woolens but all have started with the same measurement. (average measurement after washing is 14 inches x 33/34 inches, but again, some do differ)
*We sell 1/4 yd pieces, unless otherwise marked. The term "As Is" means that the wool is perfect as is
and has not been dyed.

*We photograph our wool under light aiming to get the most true color as we see it. Due to the difference in monitors some wool may appear darker or lighter than it actually is.
