"Beatrice the Chicken" a Wool Applique Project with Lydia Middaugh ~ June 21, 2024, 1-4 pm

Come enjoy a wool applique class with designer Lydia Middaugh from Charlie’s Daughter on Friday, June 21 from 1-4 pm. You will learn the basics and not-so-basics of wool applique, including fusing technique, cutting, and stitching tips. Several stitches will be taught, along with how to make silk ribbon pansies.
Beatrice, the chicken is wool applique wall hanging stitched on a cotton background (11” x 11”). Beautiful silk ribbon pansies surround her. The kit includes a printed pattern, cotton background, hand-dyed felted wool, silk ribbon, thread, and a backing fabric.

Students will need to provide:

Iron with steam, pressing mat (OTF will provide one iron with ironing board)
Straw needle
Size 22 or 24 chenille needle
Marking pencil
Small sharp scissors
Mechanical pencil

The class will be under the big tent in the backyard of The Old Tattered Flag.
