How many projects do you have piled up that are still unbound or waiting for a finish? Bring them to class and finally get them done! Kris will teach you 4 different rug finishes plus how to sew a pillow together. You will also learn a fun and easy way to put proddy fringe around a pillow. Kris will have binding materials and finishing supplies available for purchase during class.
Kris Miller specializes in primitive designs with an emphasis on textured wool and wide cuts (#8 and above). Roving, sheep curls, paisleys, novelty yarns, and hosiery are also some of Kris’ favorite hooking materials. She is the owner of Spruce Ridge Studios, featuring original primitive rug hooking patterns, hand-dyed and as-is wool, and wide variety of rug hooking supplies. Kris has won many awards and ribbons for her rugs including her county fair, Michigan State Fair, Sauder Village, and honorable mentions in A Celebration Of Hand-Hooked Rugs XIII, XVI, and XXII. Several of her original designs have also been featured as pattern inserts in Rug Hooking Magazine and the books Projects For Primitive Rug Hookers , Pattern Designs for RugHookers, and Finishing Hooked Rugs. She served as a judge for A Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs XVIII and XXVI. Her work has been selected for Early American Life’s Directory of Traditional American Crafts in 2012, 2013, and 2015. Most recently, she had authored the book Introduction To Rug Hooking, published by Stackpole Books . She has taught at many workshops and rug camps across the United States, England, and Finland. She lives in Howell, Michigan with her husband and an assortment of Angora goats, sheep, alpacas, dogs, and a cat.

Kris Millers booth is beautiful and impeccable. We are thrilled she is joining us this year, first as a teacher and secondly with her amazing patterns, hooks, books and other goodies. I've admired her work for years and have several of patterns in my "soon to be hooked" stack.
This class will be held Friday, June 23 from 1-5. Students should bring all their rug hooking supplies....perhaps an unfinished rug, scissors, hook, frame, etc. You will be sitting outside under a tent. We will have chairs for you as well as bottled water, bug spray and a light snack. Please let us know if you have any other special requests.
**If you reserve more than one class spot please let us know the names of the class participants who will be joining you by entering their name/s in the "special instructions" box during checkout. You will receive an emailed invoice of your class purchase right after you purchase. When you arrive the morning of classes, please check in at the shop and we'll help you get to the class location on the property.
